The First Day of School, August 2010

After a lot of consideration, we decided to take a break from homeschooling this year and enroll the boys in a brand new charter school near our house, called Good Foundations Academy, and it emphasizes character education and implements the Core Knowledge Curriculum. We were already familiar with the Core Knowledge Curriculum because we had used parts of it while homeschooling. I really like that the curriculum's emphasis is a whole world view, and not just limited to studies of the United States. Being a military family that has traveled around the globe, I thought that was very important. The school's website is www.gfautah.org .
The boys were extremely sad that they left Japan, so we thought it would be good to find a great school for them to get involved.

Missoula Children's Theater, August 2010

The boys also participated in the one-week long Missoula Children's Theater at Hill AFB in August. At the end of the week, they performed a variation of King Arthur, called King Arthur's Quest. Noah was a villager, Alex was a mini-King Arthur, and Ian was a mini Raven.
